CARRIGALINE GAA NOTES

INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL LEAGUE

The Carrigaline Intermediate team made the long journey to Adrigole
on Sunday last. Missing a number of regulars they put in a very determined
performance and came away with a draw. Playing against a strong wind
in the first half the Carrig lads were more than a match for their opponents.
Trailing by 0-6 to 0-5 at the break was an excellent return given the
conditions.
The second half proved to be a tough affair. Carrig started with some early
points but were on the back foot again when Adrigole replied with one of
their own.Adrigole added three more points to leave the score standing at
0-10 to 0-7 and with only minutes remaining regular sub goalkeeper who
had been brought on at full forward won a great ball and despatched it to the
net to earn Carrigaline a deserved draw, 0-10 to 1-7.

MINOR B LEAGUE

Carrigaline made the short journey to Ballygarvan last Sunday and came
away with their first win of the campaign. Playing with the aid of a strong
wind in the 1st Half and some excellent play from forwards Paddy Kelliher
and David Manly. Carrig had four points on the board before Ballygarvan
registered their first point. Goalkeeper Johnny Bermingham also helping
to keep the score down with a great penalty save. Two further points
from D Manly and T O’Connor saw the Carriga lads go in at Half Time
0-6 to 0-1 ahead.
Carrigaline continued to dominate their opponents in the second half
and some very strong defensive work by D Bagnall, B Twomey and
C Barry kept our near neighbours at bay for long periods. Carrigaline
finished the half the strongest and a goal and a point from P Kelliher
wrapped up the game for the Carrig team 1-8 to 0-2.
